Pathological Study on Amyloidosis Induction of Amyloidosis by Various Kinds of Microorganisms

Incidence of experimental amyloidosis in C_3H/He mice was compared among the various kinds of microbes, such as Nocardia rubra (N. rub.), Nocardia convolta (N, con.), Yeast, Bacillus subtilis (M. buty.) with or without complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA). The following results were obtained. 1. Splenic amyloid was noted in mice treated with N. rub. plus IFA, N. rub alone, N. con. plus IFA, N. con. alone, Yeast plus IFA, and M. buty. plus CFA. The mice treated with M. buty. alone, Yeast alone, and B. sub. plus IFA showed no deposion of amyloid. 2.
