Family contacts of patients with infectious with infectious mononuclesis are rare. In the present study, occurrence in a family of infectious monoucleosis are reported. A girl aged 4 years and her parents were admitted to Shimonoseki Hospital with complaints of fever and jaundice. Five weeks previously, a sister aged 1 year have suffered from acute hapatitis. All four cases had characteristic signs and symptoms of infectious mononucleosis as descreibed by Evans and were complicated by severe hepatitis. Three of four cases had a significantly high titer of igM antibody to Epstein-Barr virus and were suspected E B virus infection.
