Total number of the Yusho patients was 44 by the end of 1982. Dermatological symptoms and serum lipid levels of patients were determined at least once a year for 14 years from the onset of poisoning in 1968. The dermatological symptoms 60% of the patients gradually improved until, by 1979, they were nearly indistinguishable while the other 40% of the patients retained comedo and pigmentation. Serum TG and TC levels of 70-80% of the patients decreased gradually, while in the other 20-30% of the patients the levels remained elevated. It was not clear whether or not there was a close correlation between the dermatological symptoms and hyperlipidemia.
