本文においては, 可変素子を含む分圧回路に周波数の異なる2つの信号を重畳して加えれば分圧された出力中に含まれる2信号の和または差の周波数成分は各信号の振幅の積に比例することを示し, また, パラメトリック回路においてアイドリング回路に現われる電圧または電流は信号励振量とポンピング励振量のおのおのの振幅の積に比例することも示している.これらはいずれも原理的にパラメトリック方式であるということができる.これらを用いたアナログ関数乗算法の原理的説明の他に誤差に関する検討も多少行なわれている.
