Monitoring of serum concentration of disopyramide, one of the useful antiarrhythmiacs, has been recommended because of a slight difference between therapeutic serum level (2-5μg/ml) and toxic level (over 7μg/ml). Measurments of serum concentration by high performance liquid chromatography were carried out as regards eight inpatients with cardiovascular disease. These patients were administered disopyramide capsuls (Rythmodan^<【○!R】> 100mg/Cap.) orally over 2 weeks in our hospital. The dosage ranged from 1.6 to 3.0 mg/kg (the mean : 2.1mg/kg) and the results obtained were as follows. 1. The average of apparent distribution volume (Vd) was 0.98L/kg (ranged from 0.69 to 1.46L/kg). 2. The mean serum concentration of steady state (Css) determined as 3.11μg/ml. 3. The steady state concentrations in each patients were all within therapeutic level and it was found that the medications by disopyramide are performed adequately.
