The present paper demonstrates the production of a monoclonal antibody against TA-4, a tumor-antigen of squamous cell carinoma of the uterine cervix. Hybridoma clones were prepared by fusions of the mouse myloma cell line P3U1 with spleen cells of BALB/c mice immunized with purified TA-4. One monoclonal antibody, which showed the highest titer was selected for further analyses of its characteristics. The antibody belonged to IgG class, and immunohistochemical studies with malignant and non-malignant tissues showed that the antibody specifically directed to TA-4. The monoclonal antibody would thus be useful for further inverstigations regarding TA-4.
