The analysis of the amylase isozyme using an electrophoresis is important in the diagnosis of the pancreatic diseases but this method takes a long time to work. In the contrary, an amylase inhibitor method is more convenient than an electrophoresis. The author compared an amylase inhibitor from wheat with an electrophoresis in amylase isozyme determination. The result showed a good correlation between the two methods (r=0.869). In comparison between amylase inhibitor from the wheat (Phadebas) and from the actinomyces (Haim), Haim showed higher inhibitory activity than Phadebas, especially on S-amylase.
