The Usefulness of Non-invasive Parameter (PSP/ESVI) in Assessing Cardiac Contractility

It is difficult to assue the left ventricular contractility independently on ofterload or preload in clinical cardiology. we calculated peak systolic pressure / endsystolic volume index (PSP/ESVI) as a parameter of contractility by cuff method, catheter-tip manometer and echocardiography, and studied the usefulness of this parameter for evaluating the contractility of the left ventricle. 1) There was significant correlation between PSP/ESVI ratio and Emax.
