Two cases of sporadic typhoid fever were reported. Case 1 : Four-year-old boy complained of continuous high fever, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Salmonella typhi (S-typhi) was detected from the blood about two weeks after onset. He was treated with CP and CEX, and he was discharged well after six weeks of admission. But, he was admitted again as the carrier of S-typhi. On the second admission, he was treated with AB-PC and discharged well after four weeks. At present, he is in good condition. Case 2 : Ten-year-old boy complainedof continuous high fever and exanthema. Salmonella typhi was detected from the blood about two weeks after onset. He was treated with CP and CEX for about five weeks, and discharged in good condition. The phage type of these S-typhi was D_2.
