A one hundred nad thiety nine patients with histologically verified intracranial tumors for 19 years between 1954 and 1972 were retrospectively evaluated. Operative mortality rate was 18.0 per cent. At the time of December 31, 1976 a follow-up study in 87 discharged patients was dne by mail of enquete, and answers were received from all of them. Fifty two or 37.4 per cent lived over 5 years, and 46 lived in useful life. Twenty five of 89 patients lived over 10 years.
