A study of radiosensitizing effect of misonidazole (Ro-07-0582) : 1. Radiosensitizing effect of Ro-07-0582 to Ehrlich Ascites Tumor Cell

The radiosensitizing effect of Ro-07-0582 on the mean survival time of mice and mitotic delay time of the cells using the Ehrlich Ascites Tumor Cells were examined. Experimental method was undergone via in vitro or in vivo irradiation before in vivo assay. Under hypoxic condition containing Ro-07-0582, mean survival time of the mice was affected. In this instance, the enhancement ratio showed 1.85 in vitro and 1.95 in vivo. As for the mitotic delay time of the cells, low dose irradiation (from 50 rads to 200 rads) induced mitotic delay. Under the hypoxic condition containing Ro-07-0582, low dose irradiation showed just as twice mitotic delay time compared with the condition without Ro-07-0582. And so, the enhancement ratio of this circumstance was descided on 2.00. These conclusions showed that the drug of Ro-07-0582 had significant radiosensitizing effect under the hypoxic condition.
