The gastroduodenal arterial blood flow before, immediately after thirty minutes after clamping of the common hepatic artery (ligation of which was performed during total gastrectomy) was studied in 23 patients with gastic cancer. In 19 of the 23 patients (the increase group), immediately after clamping the gastroduodenal arterial blood flow increased from 116 to 292% (mean value, 164.4±49%) of the pre-clamped level.
