Although a variety of mechanisms have been considered by many investigators as to the pathogenesis of a progressive atrophy of edentulous jaw, they based their theory mainly on clinical observations and the reports of histologic study were few in number. The present investigation was undertaken to clarify pathological changes of completely edentulous jaws.
