Descriptions
It is considered that ionic wind (IW) in electrostatic precipitator (EP) has much influence on collecting dust. Characteristics of IW closely depend on the voltage-current relation in EP and the current distribution on the collecting electrode. The research about IW and current distribution in the same gap distance as that of the practical EP has never been reported yet. This paper is a report on the basic research for the study of IW in model EP which has a multi-rod discharge electrode with some projections. In our expriment, the number of rods and projections of discharge is increased in every experiment so as to check for the effect of rods and projections on discharging characteristics. The mian results are summarised as follows
