Two stage sulfuric acid leachings of metal values from manganese nodule consisting of the selective recovery of copper and nickel in the first stage, and leaching of cobalt in the second stage from roasted products of the residue from the first stage leaching have been studied. Cobalt recovery was more than 38% from the products roasted at 300°&acd
