Angiography was performed in two patients with serious lower gastrointestinal bleeding. As extravasation was demonstrated with selective catheterization. Transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) with some pieces of gelratin sponge was attempted by using a 3F co-axial catheter. After TAE, hemorrhage was completely stopped with no severe complications, such as bowel infarction and perforation. TAE with selective catheterization is considerd to be an effective technique to control acute lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage.
