The recent increase in tuberculosis has reconfirmed its importance and that of related diseases. The patient was a 71-year-old woman who had pericostal tuberculosis underlying the left breast, which showed sudden enlargement one month before presentation. She was treated with antituberculosis drugs and the lesion was resected. This case is reported here with a discussion of the treatment policy for tuberculosis, precautions for draining of abscesses, and operative procedures.
