The outpatients who visited Neurologic clinic in Yamaguchi University Hospital during 1991 were investigated concerning the diagnoses and the number of those with respective diseases. The total number of patients was 1038 with a marked increase in number compared with that during last three years. The most diseases were cerebrovascular disease, functional headache and peripheral neuropathy, comprising one-third of all patients. This rapid increase in outpatiens shows that the importance of Neurologic clinic has been recognized by other medical staffs and hospital patients. However, there are some remaining problems in our Neurologic Clinic, consisting of too small number of official staffs and beds for many patients who require hospitalization. We wish these problems will be solved under the support of our university personnels in the near future.
