Descriptions
Anesthetized dogs were exposed to 1,1,1-trichloroethane (1,1,1-TCE) and left ventricular peak dP/dt, left ventricular pressure (LVP), dP/dt/P40 and Vmax were determined to investigate the actue effects of the solvent on bentricular contractility. Decrease in peal dP/dt, LVP, dP/dt/P40 and Vmax were observed following exposure to 1,1,1-TCE. The threshold concentration to produce the decrease was approximately 0.2%, and a dose-reponse relationship was observed between the 1,1,1-TCE concentration and the degree of decrease in every contractile parameter. Furthermore, highly significant correlations were seen between the degree of decrease in 4 parameters following 1,1,1-TCE inhalation. Based on the results mentioned above, it was confirmed that left ventricular contractility in the period of isovolumetric contraction decrease following actue 1,1,1-TCE inhalation.
