From 1974 to 1983, 302 patients with 408 aneurysms were treated, of whom 140 were male and 162 female. The age distribution was from 20 to 80 years old with the peak of incidence in the sixth decade. The number of the patients with ruptured aneurysm was 284 while those with unruptured aneurysm numbered 18. Amongst the unruptured aneurysms, symptomatic aneurysm was seen in 9 patients and asymptomatic aneurysm in 9 patients. The patients with single aneurysm were 229 while the patients with multiple aneurysms were 73. The number of aneurysms located in the internal carotid area was 127 (31.1%)
