In 1940, three doctors dreamed of the foundation of a new private medical college in Ube-city. They were Dr. Gouji Watanabe, Dr. Nobuo Mizuta and Dr. Tatsutaka Yamamoto. Very unfortunately, their planning was unsuccessful, however, their romantic hope was gratified with the opening of Yamaguchi Medical School in 1944. A pamphlet of the planning of Ube Medical College was introduced and the situation of doctors in those days was reviewed. Moreover, they were evaluated that their work ought to be highly commended for the forerunner of idea and the enthusiasm in the foundation of Yamaguchi Medical School.
