Descriptions
The present paper describes the effects of time step and grid size on the numerical results for unsteady flow problems. We studied Karman vortex behind a square cylinder in a channel at intermediate Reynolds numbers, using a finite volume code. It is revealed that the numerical errors strongly depend on respective physical quantities such as velocities and Strouhal number etc. The predicted Strouhal number satisfactorily agrees with the experiment additionally performed.
