The dynamic behavior of parametrically excited vibration of a railway vehicle with side swaying, rolling and yawing motions on a multispan simply supported girder system was investigated in this paper. It was found from analytical results of stability that lowering of the flexural rigidity of girder caused the unstable regions in the stability map to broaden and use of the shorter span than 20m long was advisable for the Shinkansen vehicle. However, it was found the results of simulation that the amplitude of vibration of a vehicle on the parametric resonance was small and, in practice, dynamic behavior of a railway vehicle on a multispan simply supported girder system was stable.
