Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an important education media, which is frequently used by children for learning and communication purposes. Thus, children are becoming more comfortable with ICT than ever before. However, there are still some concerns as to whether the ICT-based education really enhances the quality of student learning or if it only makes superficial changes in the ways of student learning. The primary purpose of this study is to identify the specific ways in applying ICT for student learning and to suggest new directions of ICT use for future education in which teaching and learning technologies essentially facilitate students’ selfdirected learning.
