地元志向は,就職活動を通じて容易に変化する. 就職活動前の地元志向と,結果としての地元就職は,出現率でみる限り大きな違いはない. 非地元志向者が地元で就職したり,地元志向者が地元を離れたり,両方の動きが観察される. 出会いによる視野拡大や,親の影響などが変化の要因と考えられる. 就職活動中の学生は,必ずしも地元の会社だけを見ているわけではない. 地元志向にとらわれることなく,幅広い視野で仕事選択の機会を提供することが重要である. それは結果として,地元就職を減少させるものではない.
