In this article the forest reserves of Izui Shinto Shrine at lzui and Wakami-ya Shinto Shrine at Aki are discussed in detail from the ecological standpoint. The big trees and noteworthy plants newly found in this region are mentionedin the text. Ficus Winfhtiana luxuriantly grows in Kominase and Oominase islets,showing the northern limit of the distribution of this plant. Heigun islet seems to be also the northern limit of the distribution of Clinopodium chinense var. Yura is a new locality of Plantago yakusimensis which is famous for its disjunctive distribution.
