Rumenitis caused by straw binder made by polypropylen was found in five cows fed in dairy farm in Yamaguti Prefecture. The binder was ingested with rice straw and formed hard mass in the rumen. Inorganic substances deposited on the mass. The weifht of masses varied from 0.5kg to 7.7kg in wet condition. Two cares contained large mass over 5.0kg in weight in the rumen sufferd from dyspepsia, but no symptoms were found in the rest three cares. In clinical test, specific changes were not revealed, however, villi and pigment were lost in some areas and leukocytic infiltraion was found in the thickened submucosa in pathological examination.
