The writer investigated the relation of the shape of fan to the velocity and uniformity of the air current in the winnowing mechanism. The velocity of the air current was measured by using the thermal flowmeter. The following conclusions may be drawn: 1. If the openings at each side of the fan housing are opened as much as possible and equally, the air current flows with more uniform velocity than when they are closed, 2. The uniform flow of the air current is produced 'rather by use of the A-shaped fan than the U-shaped fan.' 3. It seems that the velocity of the air current sent from the A-shaped fan is higher than the other.
