The following remarkable plants and plant associations in Yamaguti Prefecture are mentioned .in this report : 12. Ilex rotunda ThuNBERG in the precincts of Suga Shrine, Izumo-mura, Saba-gun. The girth of the trunk 4.20 m., the height 14 m. 13. Aphananthe aspera PLANCHON in the precincts of Hanao-Hatimangil Shrine, Simazi-mura, Saba-gun. The girth of the trunk 4.85 m., the height 11 m. 14. Xylosma Apactis KoiDZUMI in the precincts of Wakamiya Shrine, Toyonisi-mura, Toyora-gun. The girth of the trunk 83 cm. 15. Acer palmatum THUNBERG in the precincts of Denpukuzi Temple, Wada-mura, Saba-gun. The girth of the trunk 2.15 m., the height 11 m.(Psilotum nudum GRIESEBACH is found on the trunk) 16. The so-called Ipponsugi (jCfyptomeria japonica D. Don) in the precincts of Syuzenzi Temple on Mt. Kuruson, Tonoi-mura, Toyora-gun. The girth of the trunk 7.25 m. , the height 40 m. 17. Michelia japonica SARGENT in the precincts of Hiyosi Shrine, Utuga-mura, Ootugun. The forest reserve of this shrine consists mainly of Michelia compressa. The girth of trunk of the biggest tree is 3.75 m., the height being 17 m. 18. The so-called Syoninmatu (Pinus Thunbergii PARLATORB) in the precincts of Enkakuzi Temple, Atuki-mura, Kumage-gun. According to tradition this pine tree was planted by the priest Kyonyo. The trunk creeps 5 m. on the ground and then stands up 10 m. high. The girth of the trunk is 4.33 m. 19. Salix chaenomeloides KlMURA in Oitani, Yatomi-mura, Abu-gun. The girth of the trunk 3.65 m. , the height 15 m. 20. Quercus serrata THUNBERG at Abutai, Yatomi-mura, Abu-gun. The girth of the trunk 4.05 m. , the height 27 m. 21. Sabina chinensis ANTOINE in Heigun-mura, Oosima-gun. The girth of the trunk 3.55 m., the height 13.5 m. 22. Morns tiliaef'olia MAKINO in Iwaisima, Kaminoseki-mura, Kumage-gun. The girth of the trunk 3.15 m., the height 12 m. 23. Myrsine stolonifera Walker in the precincts of Izumo Shrine, Izumo-mura, Saba-gun. This plant is now known to be distributed in Yakusima and Nara Prefecture. The latter locality is now preserved as a National Natural Monument. The precincts of Izumo Shrine and Kumano Shrine (Hutamataze-mura, Asa-gun) are new localities of this plant.
