Descriptions
White-birdlime,named “Shiromochi”, was treated with 10% KOH EtOH solution to give unsaponifiable substances. From them, unidentified two compounds were isolated in addition to previously known triterpenoids, α-amyrin, β-amyrin, lupeol, and bauerenol. Structures of the isolated compounds were determined to be erythrodiol and betulin, from physicochemical properties and chemical reactions. From the results, all of triterpenoids containing in White-Birdlime were isolated and their structures were made clear after all.
