As was shown in the previous paper, an oral administration required about 30 and 60 times of the toxin as compared with the subcutaneous injection in terms of minimum lethal dose (MLD) in mice and other animals, respectively. The difference is much greater than that of other toxins experienced. In order to clarify the cause of such a difference, possible degradation of the toxin in the digestive tract and the degree of absorption by the tract were studied with mice, and also the effect of toxin on the movement of each portion of the tract was determined in the same animal with Magnus method.
