学校の理科の授業において、児童生徒の自然科学の概念や法則の認識の過程を追求し明らかにすることは重要である。特に、児童生徒の科学的概念形成を考えた理科の授業においては、児童生徒の学習課題や実験を考える上で大切な観点である。しかし、児童生徒の科学的概念形成を具体的な学習課題や実験と関連づけて明らかにした事例は少ない。実際は理科の教師の経験や感性に頼ってしまっている。そこで、科学的概念形成の授業を考えるのに有効な新しい授業戦略を考えた。理科の授業において科学的概念形成を明らかにしようとした３つの試み、「「到達目標」による授業」（玉田泰太郎）、「「のぼり・おり」理論」（酒井寛）、「ルーレッグ方式」（細谷純）をもとに新しく『概念形成図』を考えた。そして、科学的概念形成の理科の授業の授業戦略として『概念形成図』が活用できるか考察した。
