(1) The ”Misima- Usi” (a Japanese native cattle) is an unadulterated Japanese cattle which is one of the most interesting catties from the morphological point of view. The writer made a comparison of the face type of the ”Misima-Usi” (M. C. ) with that of the ”Kuroge- Wasyu” (J.B.B.C.) which is an improved Japanese native cattle. (2) Eleven portions of the face were msasured : head length (AB), forehead length (AC), length of bridge of nose (BC), nape width(DE), width of upper forehead (FG) , width of lower forehead(HI), face width(JK), mouth width(.LM), girth of mouth(LML),. depth of face(CN), and width of upper jaw(O). (see Fig.2) The biometrical value of the measured constants and the biometrical value of index number of head length were also calculated. (3) Biometrical value of the measured constants (Tables 1 and 3) The coefficient of variability of M.C. is more larger than that of J.B.B.C. throughout 11 portions of face. From this fact it is readily conceivable that M.C. is quite irregular in face type. The mean values of AC,DE,FG,HI ,LM and CN of M.C. are more larger than those of J.B.B.C. (4) Biometrical value of index number of head length (Tables 1 and &) In the measurement of AC.DE, FG,HI ,JK,LM, LML and CN,J.B. B.C. has more larger figures than those of M.C. (5) The face type of M.C. is comparatively rectangular, while that of J.B.B.C. wide.
