1. The seedings of wheat and barley were cultivated between two pieces of moist filter paper inserted into rest tube. When the 1st leaf rolled, the diameter of the drops of guttation water on the leaf tips of seedings was measured, in various temperature levels, with a microscope. Then, the volume was culculated from the diameter in 10 minutes. 2. The rate of guttation of barley decreased with increasing the duration of submersion of the roots, but it was recovered by aeration. When the roots were in air (between two sheets of moist filter paper), the rate of guttation was almost constant during the time of observation. 3.
