The quantitative determination of citric acid in the citrus juice is an important work fundamental for the juice manufacture. It has generally been determined by the titration with alkali, though the result of the very method is not exact. In this article the author proposed a new method for the quantitative determination of citric acid in the citrus juice. The acid was separated by the ion exchange resin, and then quantitatively determined by the polarographic method after the citric acid was converted into pentabromacetone.
