The toxin employed was the one purified with the activated carbon column chromatography from a crude preparation which was extracted with acetic acid acidified water, concentrated and pooled from the ovary of Sphoeroides rubripes (Torafugu) as reported in the previous paper. Lethal dose of the toxin was determined in small experimental and aquatic animals as well as calves and goats. The course of toxic symptoms was observed in detail as well.
