1. The protuberances developed on the coleoptiles, the primary leaves and the secondary leaves of naked barley (Variety: Hyogo-hadaka, Kikai-hadaka, Nagasaki-hadaka, Ehime-hadaka and Aka-Shinriki) were observed. 2. The protuberances were formed along the veins and at the margin on both sides of the leaf blade of primary and secondary leaves, and were serrate, dentate, acicular or corniform in shape. The protuberances were also developed on the coleoptiles. They were multicellular and their inner cells showed parenchymatous apperance, and it seemed that were differentiated from the epidermis of the leaves. (Received June 30, 1972)
