Descriptions
There have beem many reports on the so-called canine distemper for many years, in Japan, but comparatively few research works on the isolation of virus in tissue culture. The authors tried to isolate the virus from fouteen dogs clinically diagnosed as having canine distemper or analogous disease of infectious canine hepatitis, directly through the use of puppies kidney tissue culture, without use of ferrets. Several results of the experiments were shown as follows. 1. By means of the early infected dogs material the authors isolated seven viral agents. 2. The authors isolated six viral agents from clinically healthy puppies kidney cell culture (contained a case of lung cell). Some properties of the isolated virus are now investigating and they will be reported in the next paper.
