In this report the writers have described their experiments on the influence of the filtrate of a culture solution of collibacillus upon the vitality of human spermatozoa. Spermatozoa of definite density were kept in the filtrates of various concentations at 38℃, (in incubator) or at 14-24℃. (at room temperature). For control the spermatozoa were kept in a physiological salt-solution. The results obtained were as follows:- 1. The rate of survival and the activity of spermatozoa quickly decreases in the filtrates of higher concentration. 2. The filtrates of certain lower concentrations increase the rate of survival and activity of the spermatozoa. 3. The activity of spermatozoa has a close relation to the temperature and the metabolism of the spermatozoa.
