Descriptions
A program to determine a conformation of a peptide which gives the minimum potential energy was developed, because the conformation was important in order to elucidate relationships between structure and function of peptides. The minimization for determination of the conformation was made by using the algorithm developed by Powell and revised by Zangwill, and programming was done by the FORTRAN language. In the program, potential energy of the peptide was calculated by using the prigram (ECEPP/2) prepared by Scheraga. Several trials for peptides certified proproety of this program.
