A convenient method for chromatographic determination of carotenoids in fruits was studied. The carotenoids was separated employing column chromatography on magnesium oxide : Hyflo Super-Cel (1 to 1, w./w.). The column was developed with 5 and 10% aceton in n-hexan. In case of yellow peaches in Japan, ten fractions of carotenoids were obtained by single operation of chromatography. The major carotenoid in each fractions was found as follow
