Soil and Plant Parasitic Nematodes of Wakamatu City, Hukuoka Prefecture

Descriptions
The damage caused by plant parasitic nematodes is quite serious on many cultivated crops, and has noticed by the farmers particularly com-mon in Japan. The authors have made an observation on soil nematodes in Vvakamatucity・ where is a famous district of vegetable plantation in northern Kyusyu.The results are as follows : ’ 1.Soil and plant parasitic nematodes widely distribute in Wakamatu city as showing in Fig. 1-2. 2.It is seemed that the egg-plant, tomato belonging to Solanaceae and cucumber are heavily damaged by parasitic nematodes. 3.Soil nematodes are abundant in the parts of sandy loam soil; viz.Arige,Sinyasiki and Sakamizu districts.
