Distribution on trees, seasonal prevalence and yearly fluctuation of Cinara piniformosana (TAKAHASHI) were studied on Pinus densiflora SLEB. Et ZUCC. At Yamaguchi University Farm from April 1986 to December 1988. Population density of this aphid species was high on the lower part of trees in April at the beginning and high density part moved to the middle and the upper parts of trees in May. Number of individuals found was the greatest in mid and late May, and then it decreased without a notable peak. Almost no individuals were found after September during these years surveyed except in 1987 when some aphids were found in winter too. The alatae first appeared between late April and mid May, and its density showed the greatest between late July and mid August.
