        The electrical amd optical properties of electrochromic WO_3 amorphous films and EC display devices have been investigated. The devices used in this study were EC cells having a SnO_2 : Sb-WO_3-H_2SO_4 electrolyte-S_nO_2 : S_b structure. The WO_3 films were prepared by rf sputtering from a sintered WO_3 target or vacuum evaporation. The EC characteristics of the sputtered WO_3 cell, such as coloration response and optical absorption spectra showed the same behavior as those of the evaporated WO_3 cell.
