Descriptions
The radicle of soya bean was divided into hypocotyl and rootlet, then these were divided respectively into two vertical sections, upper part and lower one, in order to determine the amount of vitamin C contained in each section. Following results were obtained. The largest amount of vitamin C was contained in the cusp part of rootlet and in the upper part of hypocotyl where the cell division is active, and the vital phenomenon is vigorous. While a small amount was contained in the upper part of rootlet and in the lower part of hypocotyl where the growth is little. Besides, the regional distribution of dehydroascorbic acid was similar to that of total vitamin C.
