This work sets out to examine the issue of activeness in the area of dream analysis. The dominant focus of research on dreams has been exploration of the meaning of dreams. In the author view, however, dreams have various clues to dealing with crises. In this paper, it has been asserted that the major functions of dreams lie in annunciating and requesting. As the dream announces the dreamer his or her psycho-socail crisis, the dreamer is able to cope with crisis with a help of the therapist. Consequently, the dreamer will develop his or her activeness which is indispensable to live through turbulent modern times. According to Robert L. Van de Castle's book entitled ”Our Dreaming Mind”, Emerson said, ”A skillful man reads his dreams for his self-knowledge.”Borrowing his manner of speech, we can say, ”A skillful man utilizes his dreams for overcoming his difficulty of Living.”
