Analysis of an intercultural communication incident at the rugby world cup and its potential for use as a case study for teaching intercultural communication skills

本稿では,2019年ラグビーワールドカップで発生した異文間コミュニケーションの事例を報告する. フランス・アメリカの試合終了後,観客の一人がスタジアムの芝生に飛び降り,警察に拘束された. 拘束されたのはフランス人であったが,日本の警察とのコミュニケーションがスムーズにいかなかったため,試合会場でボランティアをしていた本稿の著者が呼ばれ,フランス人と警察の仲裁を行った. 本稿はその事例を異文化コミュニケーションの観点から分析を行うとともに,その事例をどのように異文化コミュニケーションの教材として用いることができるか検討する.
