The invention of silent machine is a social demand. Notwithstanding, it is an important but difficult problem to manufacture a special machine which is inherentry quiet. The most effective way to substantially reduce the noise of uproarious machine is to completely enclose the machine itself. This paper describes the theoretical investigation of noise reduction by enclosure and the analysis performed regarding the sound transmission loss of various types of wall.
