Instability of the Cholesteric Planar Texture under ac Electric Field

The instability of the cholesteric planar texture with negative dielectric anisotropy is studied by microscopical observation. The model of the dissipative structure at higher voltage above the threshold is proposed. And it is shown that the formation of disclination plays an important role in the instability.
