An elasto-plastic stress strain equation was proposed for predicting the stress strain relationships of sand and gravel in particle-crushing regions. Predicted stress strain curves were compared to those obtained from several kinds of triaxial shear tests, including multi-step stress path tests, and it was proved that the proposed equation much better predicts the measured stress strain curves than the conventional equations do.
